CARAMEL CORN

 

Ingredients:

 

1 can Eagle brand milk

½ cup butter

2 ½ cups brown sugar

1 cup white Karo syrup

 

Directions:

 

  • Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan

  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until softball stage

  • Pour over large bowl of popcorn

DIVINITY

 

Ingredients:

 

3 egg whites

¾ cup boiling water

¾ cup Karo syrup

3 cups sugar

 

 

Directions:

 

  • Beat egg whites till firm

  • Combine remaining ingredients and cook to a firm ball stage

  • Add half of syrup to egg whites and beat

  • Continue cooking remaining syrup to hard crack stage

  • Finish adding syrup to egg whites and beat till it looses it's gloss and holds shape

  • Mix in 1 tsp. vanilla

  • Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper

  • Let stand till firm

FANTASY FUDGE

 

Ingredients:    

 

3 cups sugar

¾ cup butter

5.3 ounces evaporated milk

1 – 12 ounce pkg. chocolate chips

1 – 7 ounce jar of marshmallow crème

1 tsp. vanilla

 

Directions:

 

  • On medium heat, bring sugar, butter and milk to a boil, stirring constantly.

  • Continue boiling 5 minutes. 

  • Take off heat and add chocolate chips. 

  • Stir until melted

  • Add marshmallow crème and vanilla. 

  • Stir until blended

  • Pour into a 9 X 13 pan. 

  • Let cool and cut into squares.

FUDGE

 

Ingredients:

 

3 cups sugar

1 cup milk

2 Tbs. cocoa

1 tsp. butter

dash of salt

1 tsp. vanilla

 

Directions:

 

  • Put sugar, milk and cocoa in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil, on medium heat, to softball stage.

  • Take off heat, add butter, salt and vanilla

  • Let cool

  • Once cool, beat till it looses it's glossy look

  • Spread into a buttered 9  X 13 pan

  • Let cool and cut into squares

TAFFY

 

Ingredients:

 

3 cups sugar

½ cup vinegar

½ cup water

 

Directions:

 

  • Place all ingredients in large sauce pan

  • Cook over medium heat until hard ball stage (when small amount is dropped into a cup of cold water you can form it into a firm ball)

  • Pour onto buttered platter and let cool until it can be handled safely

  • Pull and stretch, folding it over as it lengthens

  • Continue pulling until it looses it's glossy look

  • Cut off small sections, twist and place on waxed paper till firm
